How to lose weight detox diet

1 Week Detox Diet Plan

1 week detox diet plan is one of the best free detox diet plans I’ve ever come across. I know that because I’ve tried it several times and it worked every time. I did manage to lose as many pounds as the detox plan promised.

I did the detox diet for a week and I remember Day 1 being fairly difficult. The rest of the one week detoxification was great, but the very first day is something I’ll never forget…

Day 1 of the One week detox diet

Day 1 of 1 week detox diet plan is rough, but knowing that from this day on all stored toxins are being extracted from one’s body is actually quite bearable, even sweet, discomfort. And just like me, anybody will be ready to put up with it for the greater purpose to detoxify one’s body and to lose 2 – 3 pounds per week.

1 Week detox diet plan – Goals

With this detox diet plan you can lose 1 pound per day (nearly half a kilogram) and detoxify from all stored toxins and body fluids. Read our review

Day 1 – Fruit and vegetable juices

Drink fruit and vegetable juices all day long – for breakfast, for lunch and for dinner.

! In order to preserve all vitamins, minerals and all other microelements – make the juice just before drinking.

Spend Day 1 of the one week detox diet drinking all fresh and mixed juices you like. If you are lacking ideas for mixed juice combinations – here are some useful ideas:

  • 1 grapefruit, 1 orange and 2 tbsp* of lemon juice
  • 7 tbsp (100 ml) beet and celery juice + 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 20 tbsp (300 ml) cucumber juice, 7 tbsp (100 ml) tomato juice and 1 tbsp chopped up parsley
  • 14 tbsp (200 ml) carrot juice and 7 tbsp (100 ml) apple juice

Drink about 3.2 pints (1.5 litres) of juices. You can drink mineral water and tea as much as you like, but with no sugar.

Day 2 – Potatoes

Boil 1.65 pounds (750 g) of potatoes and divide them into 2-3 portions.

Breakfast
1 slice of bread and 3.5 ounces (100 g) of cheese

Here are a few ideas for cooking the potatoes:

  • Potato salad with onion or leeks, with lemon juice dressing
  • Mashed potatoes mixed with 4 tbsp hot milk and chopped up dill or parsley
  • Potato soup garnished with green spices and nutmeg, and 1 boiled egg

Day 3 – Rice

Boil 7 ounces (200 g) rice for about 25-30 minutes in non-salted water. Strain off the rice and divide it into 5 portions. Eat 1 portion every 2 hours. If you wish you can stir up the rice with some fruit or tomato juice or fat free vegetable soup.

Drink at least 5.5 pints (2.5 litres) of mineral water, tea, coffee with no sugar.

Day 4 – Fruits

Breakfast
1 slice of bread or 2 dietetic rusks, 3.5 ounces (100 g) of cheese, 1 apple or pear.

For the rest of the day eat only fruits about 2.5 – 3.5 pounds (1 – 1.5 kg). You can make a fruit salad and garnish it with lemon juice.

You can eat all kinds of fruits except for bananas.

Drink at least 4.5 pints (2 litres) of mineral water, tea, coffee with no sugar.

Day 5 – Macaroni

Boil 5.3 ounces (150 g) macaroni for about 10 minutes in salted water. Strain off the macaroni and divide them into 3-4 portions.

Breakfast
1 slice of bread, 1 tsp* of butter, 1 boiled egg.

For the rest of the day eat only the macaroni.

Here are some ideas how to vary the macaroni portions:

  • Mix the macaroni with 2 tbsp of parsley or dill and 1 ounce (30 g) grated cheese
  • Mix the macaroni with 1.05 pints (500ml) ready-cooked vegetable soup and 1 tsp chopped onion
  • Mix the macaroni with 1 chopped up tomato, 2 tbsp boiled peas, 1 tbsp apple vinegar and 1 tsp of parsley

You can drink 4.5 pints (2 litres) of mineral water, tea, coffee with no sugar.

Day 6 – Vegetables

Breakfast
1 slice of bread or 2 dietetic rusks, 1 tsp of butter, 1 boiled egg.

For the rest of the day eat about 2 pounds (1 kg) of vegetables – half fresh and the other half stewed.

Here are some ideas how to cook the vegetables:

  • Stew 8.5 ounces (250g) cauliflower and 8.5 ounces (250 g) cabbage
  • Prepare all kinds of mixed salads with the fresh vegetables with lemon dressing or apple vinegar
  • Eat 1 boiled egg or 1.7 ounces (50 g) cheese with one of the portions

You can drink 4.5 – 5.5 pints (2 – 2.5 litres) of mineral water, tea, coffee with no sugar.

Day 7 – Meat

Breakfast
1 slice of bread, 1 tsp of butter, 1 oz (30 g) cheese, 1 tomato, a few slices of onion.

Lunch
3.5 ounces (100 g) roasted veal,
4.5 ounces (120 g) boiled potatoes mixed with 1 tbsp vegetable oil and 2 tbsp of parsley.

Dinner
3.5 ounces (100 g) green salad, 3 tomatoes, 1 small onion, 3.5 ounces (100 g) boiled vegetable marrows, 3.5 ounces (100 g) boiled or roasted fish, 1 slice of rye or wholemeal bread.

You can drink about 4.5 pints (2 litres) of mineral water or tea without sugar.

1 Week detox diet is over – now what?

Once the 1 week detox diet plan is over, you should gradually start introducing more and more healthy cooked meals to your daily menu.

  • If possible cook food with very law or no fat.
  • Try to avoid incompatible food combinations.
  • Don’t forget to drink lots of water as if you are still on the 1 week detox diet.

To be on Detox Diet for a week – the Results

For the first time on the one week detox diet you can lose from 4.4 up to 6.6 pounds (i.e. 2 – 3 kilograms). If that’s OK for you – great!

However, if you need to shed a few more pounds, you will have to repeat the diet after 1 or 2 weeks break. During the break you must not overeat to compensate the lack of food while you were on the detox diet. On the contrary – eat regularly and eat smaller quantities more often (3-4 hours between meals).

Again for a week on the best free detox diet plan on-line and you will probably lose the same weight (2-3 kg.) or less. Why less? Well, once you start over the diet you won’t be able to trick your body to burn more fat like you did the first time. But yet already knowing that food regime, your body will gradually get used to taking fewer quantities and less calories. You will feel full faster and will be losing weight without being hungry. Isn’t that every dieters dream come true? ��

One Week Detox Weight Loss

In her book “Need to know? Detox,” published in 2007, health writer Gill Paul attributes weight loss during a seven-day detox to the elimination of most sugars, fats and other calorie-laden foods from your diet. She advises preparing your body before the detox by gradually cutting out tobacco, alcohol, caffeine, processed foods and other toxins. Ask your doctor’s advice before beginning a detox plan.

Prepare to Detox

Choose a suitable week to plan your detox, making sure your are unlikely to be stressed or have a heavy workload, because you could experience irritability and some loss of concentration — a possible side effect of detox, according to Gill Paul. Stock up with foods you will need for the week ahead, so you do not run short and become tempted to reach for a quick fix of fast food. Ensure you have no items such as alcohol, dairy foods or chocolate might lure you into breaking the detox rules.

Who should not Detox?

According to Gill Paul, you should not go on a seven-day detox if you are under 18, you take blood thinning or blood pressure medication, you take antidepressants, you are breastfeeding, you suffer from a mental condition such as schizophrenia, bipolar or any eating disorder, or immediately before or after a surgical intervention. If you have diabetes, hypoglycemia, thyroid, liver or kidney problems, cancer or stomach ulcers, you must ask your doctor if a detox of any kind is suitable for you.

Tips for Successful Detox

Elson M. Haas, M.D., author of “The Detox Diet,” and director of the Preventive Medical Center of Marin, San Rafael, California, offers tips for embarking on a seven-day detox plan. He recommends that you eat slowly and chew food properly; eat small amounts and leave 15 to 30 minutes between portions to improve digestion and the detox; add three teaspoons of oil or butter daily to grains to protect cells and keep tissues healthy. He also suggests you prepare vegetables the night before and drink the juice from the preparation as a snack between meals for nourishment and to stave off hunger pangs.

Exercise and Detox

Dr. Haas recommends 60 minutes of moderate exercise each day during the week-long detox. He suggests activities such as “walking, cycling or yoga,” explaining that blood and lymph circulation activate the body’s natural waste disposal process to clear out toxins faster. If you struggle with a whole hour of exercise, split it up into short bursts of 15 or 30 minutes, as long as it adds up to an hour a day.

Weight Loss and Detox

According to Judy Bass, writer for “Natural Health Magazine,” you can feel great and lose up to 10 pounds on a seven-day detox plan. The plan she refers to was designed by Dr. Haas in April 2003 and although some programs are liquid only, this one allows for a variety of fruits, vegetables and whole grain.

Muffin Cup Omelets: Lose Weight By Eating- Detox Week

Muffin Cup Veggie Omelets Detox Recipe

Makes 6 servings

Serving size: 2 omelets

Per serving: calories 89; fat 5 g; saturated fat 3 g; fiber 5 g; protein 10 g; carbohydrates 2 g; sugar 1 g

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 20 minutes

  • Olive oil spray
  • ½ cup chopped red bell pepper
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped white mushrooms
  • ¼ cup chopped spinach
  • 5 fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 large egg whites
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup crumbled goat cheese
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 12-cup muffin pan with oil spray.
  2. As you chop the veggies, divide them among the muffin cups.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg whites, salt, and pepper. Pour 2 tablespoons of the egg mixture into each muffin cup, then top each with 1 teaspoon of goat cheese.
  4. Bake the omelets for 20 minutes, then let them rest for 5 minutes in the pan (this will help them stay together).

VARIATIONS

  • You can use any cheese you like! Cheddar and feta both work well.
  • If you like spice, add a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce to the eggs.

Add meat- crumble 2 cooked sausage patties (see the healthy homemade sausage patties in the cookbook) and add them to the veggies.

The General motors detox diet has been said to help people lose 5 to 11kg in a week. It is divided into seven days, and some individuals who used this General motors detox diet swear by it.

I have been getting lots of demands and request to post the General motors detox diet, even though i am not totally in support of it. Please ensure you consult your doctor before embarking on strict diets like this. Please note that the healthy and recommended weight loss per week is 1 to 2kg(at most) weekly.

According to some sources, the General motors detox diet was introduced by the company to help their staff who were struggling with obesity lose weight.

It is easier than most other extreme detox diets around as most times you are allowed to eat as much as you want of the certain food groups and with the General motors detox diet, the foods are somewhat nice. A very important aspect to note while doing the General motors detox diet is that you must take at least 10 tall glasses of water every day. Compulsory. The dieter is also to abstain totaly from alcholhol, palm oils, sutars, and the likes. No soft drinks or fruit juices this perod. the only fluid which can enter your body is water, and as much as you want.

The General motors detox diet (GM diet) can be followed by both vegetarians and non Vegetarians.

General Motors Diet (GM diet) weight loss Meal Plan

Day 1:В The first day of the seven day General motors detox diet, the dieter must consume only fruits, except for banana can be consumed. Any other kind of fruit may be consumed, and you can consume as much as you want!! Watermelons and pawpaw are esecially advised druing the first day of this diet. Remember yourВ ten tall glasses of water too!

Day 2: The second day of the General motors Detox Diet, the dieter can eat only raw or cooked vegetables. You can take one large sweet potato today with your vegetables, preferably in the morning, and then the rest of the day, just the vegetables. NO OILS allowed in the vegetables and no meat or any other thing allowed. Just your vegetables with a little salt or spice.В General Motors detox Dieters are advised to start their day with consuming a large baked potato, to make sure the body gets the required carbohydrate content.

Day 3: On the third day of the General motors detox diet, the dieter may consume a mixture of fruits and vegetables, except for banana. No potatoes or any other thing should be taken today, just fruits and vegetables and as usual in the General motors detox diet, you can have as much of this as you want.

Day 4: On the forth day of the General motors detox diet, the candidate is required to eat 8 bananas and 3 glasses of milk. For the glass of milk, take your tall drinking glass, ass 1 tablespoon of milk and then fill with water. Do this as soon as you wake up in the morning. You can also have unlimited amount of the cabbage soup today. The recipe for making the cabbage soup for weight loss is found at the bottom of this post.

Day 5: Today the 5th day of the General motors detox diet, you are to consme 2 oz of lean beef. To estimate this for those who do not have a scale, 3/4 of the size of your palm. Lean beef, no fatty beef is allowed. You would take this along with 6 raw fresh tomatoes, and then unlimited amounts of the cabbage soup.

Day 6: Today the 6th day of the General motors detox diet, you are to consume 2 oz of lean beef. To estimate this for those who do not have a scale, 3/4 of the size of your palm. Lean beef, no fatty beef is allowed. You would take this along with 6 raw fresh tomatoes, and then unlimited amounts of the green vegetables.
Day 7: The 7th and last day of the General motors detox diet plan, you can consume brown rice (2 cups) and as much vegetables as you want the rest of the day.

Once you wake up on the 8th day, run to your measuring scale and see what the scale says.

The cabbage soup Recipe

The General motors detox diet (GM diet) includes the cabbage soup. This are the ingredients for the cabbage soup for weight loss:

Directions: Very easy! Dice all the ingredients, put in a put to boil for 5 to ten minutes and voila its ready. For those of you who might be a bit bored with the taste, you can add your red peppers to taste!

if you go back to eating junk yes you would gain the weight back. If however you eat healthy and workouts, you wont gain it back

you cant do this diet for 2 months na! my honest advise is that you start a weight loss program that you can sustain. Start eating right, you are married and would be feeding your husband. you are not going to starve while you watch him eat all the food. So my advice is go slowly, start reducing your portions and start exercising. Wither you join a gym or you get a workout dvd that you can use at home. you can also join us on the forum and see what and how other women there are losing weight.

Keep up the good work! This site is so informative. I stumbled on gm detox diet here not too long ago. First time I did this diet I lost 4kg in 7 days with minimal exercise. I am repeating it and today is day 5, as of yesterday I had lost 3kg. This time my exercise routine has been; Day 1- 30 mins brisk walk, Day 2- 30 mins brisk walk in the morning and another 30 mins brisk walk in the evening. Day 3- 20 mins walk, run and jog, Yesterday Day 4- skipped for 30 mins 1000 times, took a minute break everytime I got to 100. I’ve been using Acai berry, Fat metaboliser, Sea kelp and KLB5 from Holland and Barretts everyday. I am a 5″10, lady. Please HELP. can you kindly give suggestions on additional information on how I can lose between 5kg & 11kg (preferably 11kg) in a week? I’ve followed this GM detox diet strictly, I haven’t cheated & was hoping to lose 11kg what am i doing wrong? Kindly reply

I’ve got to say i was a bit disappointed to learn that one could only lose water weight after the gm detox dieting, i really need to lose the actual weight. Torch Calories 24/7
Though cardio burns more calories than strength training during those 30 sweaty minutes, pumping iron slashes more overall. A study in The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research found that women who completed an hour-long strength-training workout burned an average of 100 more calories in the 24 hours afterward than they did when they hadn’t lifted weights. At three sessions a week, that’s 15,600 calories a year, or about four and a half pounds of fat—without having to move a muscle.

What’s more, increasing that afterburn is as easy as upping the weight on your bar. In a study in the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, women burned nearly twice as many calories in the two hours after their workout when they lifted 85 percent of their max load for eight reps than when they did more reps (15) at a lower weight (45 percent of their max).

There’s a longer-term benefit to all that lifting, too: Muscle accounts for about a third of the average woman’s weight, so it has a profound effect on her metabolism, says Kenneth Walsh, director of Boston University School of Medicine’s Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute. Specifically, that effect is to burn extra calories, because muscle, unlike fat, is metabolically active. In English: Muscle chews up calories even when you’re not in the gym. Replace 10 pounds of fat with 10 pounds of lean muscle and you’ll burn an additional 25 to 50 calories a day without even trying.

Target Your Trouble Spots
If you’ve ever tried to ditch the saddlebags and ended up a bra size smaller instead, you know that where you lose is as important as how much. As great as it might be to see the numbers on the scale go down, when you’re on a strict cardio-only program your victory is likely to be empty. A recent study at the University of Alabama at Birmingham compared dieters who lifted three times a week with those who did aerobic exercise for the same amount of time. Both groups ate the same number of calories, and both lost the same amount—26 pounds—but the lifters lost pure chub, while about 8 percent of the aerobicizers’ drop came from valuable muscle. Researchers have also found that lifting weights is better than cardio at whittling intra-abdominal fat—the Buddha-belly kind that’s associated with diseases from diabetes to cancer.

Just don’t rely exclusively on the scale to track your progress in the battle of the bulge. Because muscle is denser than fat, it squeezes the same amount of weight into less space. “Often, our clients’ scales won’t drop as fast, but they’ll fit into smaller jeans,” says Rachel Cosgrove, owner of Results Fitness in Santa Clarita, California. And it’s the number on the tag inside your bootcuts you want to get lower, right?

Start Pumping
Begin with three weight-training sessions each week, recommends Joe Dowdell, founder and co-owner of the New York City gym Peak Performance. For the greatest calorie burn, aim for total-body workouts that target your arms, abs, legs, and back, and go for moves that will zap several different muscle groups at a time—for example, squats, which call on muscles in both the front and back of your legs, as opposed to leg extensions, which isolate the quads.

For each exercise you do, try to perform three sets of 10 to 12 reps with a weight heavy enough that by your last rep you can’t eke out another one without compromising your form. To spark further muscle building, William Kraemer, Ph.D., a professor of kinesiology at the University of Connecticut, suggests alternating moderate-intensity workouts of 8 to 10 reps with lighter-weight 12- to 15-rep sets and super-hard 3- to 5-rep sets. And remember to fuel your workout properly. Too many dieters make the fatal error of cutting back on crucial muscle-maintaining protein when they want to slash their overall calorie intake. The counterproductive result: They lose muscle along with any fat that might have melted away. Sports nutritionist Cassandra Forsythe, Ph.D., co-author of The New Rules of Lifting for Women, recommends that you eat one gram of protein for every pound of your body weight that does not come from fat. For instance, a 140-pound woman whose body fat is 25 percent would need 105 grams of high-quality protein. That’s roughly four servings a day; the best sources are chicken or other lean meats, soy products, and eggs.
